This authentic design is an ode to Australian Bushmen. Often imitated but never duplicated, the Bushie has been handcrafted in Austrailia since 1989 as the "Original Soaker Hat". Used across a multitude of sports, agriculture, and leisure activities alike. This hat’s functionality and versatility is why people say that it’s the "best hat ever!".
Our premium custom Faux Suede allows the hat to be used in fresh water, salt water, and even chlorine! It won't lose shape or discolour. The chlorine actually helps to clean sweat bacteria out of the internal sweat band. Our fabric has the look and feel of Suede, but don't let it fool you, all our headwear use no animal products (Vegan friendly).
Featuring plaited banding, ventilation eyelets, nickel rust proof hardware, and soft elastic interior banding for a secure fit. Light-weight and durable with a 50+UPF Sun Protection rating.

All our crowns are hand turned during their production. You can customize the height and depth quite easily.

Perforated vs. Solid
The Solid crown is your traditional crown. The Perforated crown allows greater air flow, and allows it to be packed flat easier, with minimal creases.
You can pack either Bushie flat, but please don’t fold it as you could compromise the brim. Minor creases may appear, but they can be steamed out or once submerged.
Another option is to turn it upside down and pack clothing in the crown to save space.
